The Non-MARC DLA Team was a collaborative effort among representatives in archives and manuscript repositories at the University of Pennsylvania to establish cross-repository metadata policy for participation in a an integrated discovery system for finding aids, which is powered by the Van Pelt Library’s Digital Library Architecture (DLA).

The Finding Aids Working Group included representatives from archives and manuscript repositories at the University of Pennsylvania. The goal was to create a system-wide union catalog of finding aids based on the coding standard Encoded Archival Description (EAD). The group also recommended tools to help Penn repositories easily incorporate EAD encoding into their shops’ daily workflow.
